Who did you ‘birth with confidence’?

Were Rhea’s books or workshop a part of your birth preparation? We would love to hear your birth story.

You can email us at mybirthstory@rheadempsey.com.au – tell us as much or as little as you’d like! We will always check with you before using your words or pictures in any way.

If you’re not sure where to start but want to share, some prompts are below.

Prompts

  • What was your intention for your labour and birth? How did you feel about that intention? (That you would make it happen? That you’d wait and see? That it was just a wish and not likely to happen…?)
  • Did you feel supported by those around you in your intentions for your birth? What about the wider culture – did you have negative or positive feedback about your plan for your birth?
  • How did you come to Rhea’s birth preparation books/workshop?
  • What was your biggest ‘aha’ moment, if you had one, in reading Rhea’s book/undertaking her workshop?
  • Did you make any changes to your birth place/support people/birth plan/attitude as a result of learning from Rhea’s work?
  • How did you go into labour? How many weeks into the pregnancy were you?
  • How did the labour unfold?
  • Did you have a/more than one crisis of confidence? How did that look and what happened?
  • Was this labour and birth an empowering experience for you?
  • Anything else you’d like to add?
